engine mounts are very different
Edit: Yeah i thought the same, though they are very stiff, and well built.
I have decided on paint aswell. The interior and engine bay will be ford phantom purple, as i have the paint already, I do have enought to paint the whole car, but I will be painting the exterior satin black. I will also use red throughout the build (Rocker cover, seats, cage padding, wouldn't mind some red pinstriping even). Though its a long way away, driveline comes first.
Rain sux
I guess you know someone that raced a 20v. Lots of good hard to get parts there.
One TRD rod looks like it had got hot?
Where you find TOMS 47mm throttles I have no idea. Actually, where do you find TOMS stuff anywhere? New or second hand?
You are machining the crank on a normal lathe I guess. I would have a go at that if someone gave me some proven specs, and how much to take off.
all this came out of beau from westside's n2 replica, seen here - . Has made 120kw before the ewp extractores and throttles, hopefully the first stage should see us near the 190hp atw range.
Yeah that rod has had a spun bearing, it's straight, not bent or twisted, i'll have it crack tested before it see's the inside of my engine.
As for the throttles I have no clue where they have come from, don't really care just happy to have them.
Just need to sort out a fuel system, a cdi, a timing belt (HKS purple pimp belt ftw) and a headgasket. Also sourcing a smaller alternator, we fit these tiny ones on the alfa classic cars we do at work, seriously weigh 2-3kg, whether they have enough for an injected car is yet to be researched.
Gearbox needs a reco as does the diff, and i need a tailshaft, after that she'll be driving (she needs a name). Then suspension, then paint and we're racing, and without decent sponsorship is atleast a year away unfortunately.
Edit: With the crank jonny I have had nothing to do with it, nor do i know where to go, if I could give you specs i would.
Yeah, looks good. As for the 190hp atw and 200hp at the wheels, I think you should probably keep that bit a secret. It may be revealing a little too much.
lol, theres a bit more to it, that will be not be discussed. But yeah i hope it all runs smoothly.
If rally school isn't on tomorrow, I will have a block and head in, and the harness, and plumbing sorted. Then I will start working on designing an induction system.
swap cars with you when your done?
