    Hey everyone,

I'm sure you've all had it happen to you at least once, people in carparks asking to buy your ae86 or leaving a note on your windscreen etc

Well on new years eve I was pulling up to a set of lights at the M1 on ramp in Cornubia (QLD) when a Porsche Cayenne stopped next to me and the driver started saying something to me that I couldn't hear as my passenger window was up. I wound it down thinking it was going to be abuse or something but the driver asked how much I wanted for my car. Now normally when people ask I simply say 'Sorry I don't want to sell' but this guy obvisously had money so I asked how much he wanted to pay. He said to pull over around the corner.

After parking, I went over to him and we started talking and I basically said I didn't want to sell but for $6000 I'd think about it haha he didn't buy it HE said how he wanted to get into drifting or something.

Anyway, has anyone else had any interesting offers for their cars?

I had quite a few actually. But most offers are for what they are really worth (not much )

One was when I was changing the brakes on a mid-busy street and a cop car drove past slowly and I said to myself "oh shit aren't I allowed to change my brakes on the streets?" or "does he/she think I'm stripping the car?" and a young officer in the backseat pulled down the windows and asked if my car was for sale. Holy shit I was suprised.

Two was when I was at Carramar helping my dad and my car was parked with the windows down and a paddy wagon pulled up and I could see them and they were just parked infront of my car. So about 1min later I walked up to them and asked them if there's anything wrong. IT WAS THE SAME BLOKE! He asked if the car was for sale again and I reminded him that he asked last time lol

Three was when I was delivering pizza hut in Bankstown and I saw this WRX drive past. Then they did a u-turn (this was when I was out of the car holding pizza bags and everything) and thought to myself "today's the day that I'm going to get jumped). Passenger ask if my car was for sale.

Had plenty more but those are the ones I can't forget lol

I would never pull over and talk to a guy that is "interested" in my car because he wants to buy it. Especially if there's more than two people in the car because you never know, they can just jump you for it and take your car, take everything they need and torch it!

not as such, but during rally aust when a few of the workshops go into production wrc teams for the weekend as pit crew, spread apart here and there, on the saturday we had closed up and my ae86 shell was sitting on a stand under a wrx rally car on a hoist..

part of a rally crew came by to pick up essentials, like a tv and a microwave , and had nothing to say about the other cars, being fine cars themselves, but were wetting themselves over the shell...

i was stunned, but i told them it wasnt for sale...

When i used to drive my 86 on the streets, i'd always get pedestrians at the lights yelling "DRIFTER!".

I never realy knew how to respond to that. Always just sat back and smiled
