When my mate welded mine, took the centere out of the carrier. Undid the bolts on the non-crown wheel side, welded all in there, filled with bolts and stuff, welded more, didnt break for 2months, bearings failed first. He said if i was to replace the bearings, it would last longer. So I just replaced the centre/carrier with another that he welded for my friend, so ive had it for atleast 4months now, nothing has broken, this is on a S series. Lots of fun has been had with it.

puttin a square of thick steel inbetween each face of the spider gears is a good way to lock it, and smothering that shit with a mig afterwards.

yes thats what i would do.. IF i were to be as dodgy as that.. S seires diffs are biatches.. cos it looks like it has an LSD assy with only a few access holes if you do it to a T seires they have much bigger axles and piss easy to dodgy up i mean lock..

Hmm.. it sounds like it would be esier to just throw a new LSD diff in..

most jap ones came standard with lsd but most are near death since theyre 21 years old.
can still buy aftermarket lsd's brand new.

Guess im going to have to look for aftermarket lsd center to go in my current diff (although i think the axels are busted)

You got any suggestions for aftermarket centers/diffs?

By the way, thanks for everyones input .. i originally thought that welding it up would be easy, however ive suddenly takign a few steps back to think about it

    man what a night..
after 2 hours of non stop diff discussion there really is no out right winner for me.

So i guess im just going to try and source a cheap lsd/1way then hunt for a cheap t-series that seems to be the only thing that might work.

however i heard the t-series wont last to long on a turbo engine and a fair level of drift.

    hmm
