Now I'm prob stating the obvious but here goes anyway. Here's an easy way to refill ur T50 after jacking up the front end, draining the used oil, etc...

Grab about a 1.5m of some small diameter clear PVC tubing from Bunnings or any other hardware store.

Crack the filler plug on the trans and get her opened up and ready (pray to the good Lord that the dude before you didn't use a freakin rattle gun to put the plug in as on mine)...

Get ur 4litre bottle of trans oil that ur going to use to refill the T50 and pop it on the cam cover of ur 4ag (if u have one) or somewhere upright and solid in the engine bay.

Open the bottle (suppose you see where this is going), drop in one end of the tubing and feed the other end down the side of the trans.

Jump under the car and start suckin'.... suck the end of the tube til you're about to get a Castrol facial and then let the siphon kick in (don't worry, you'll be able to see the oil coming down the tube well before you cop a mouthful...)

Stick the tube in the filler orifice and stand back....when the oil starts running out of the filler hole you know ur done.

The time it takes to fill depends on the diameter of ur tubing. I usually get a texta and mark the oil bottle on the back where the clear level is before I start. This way you can sort of see where ur at with the filling. From memory I think it's about 1.4l on a T50 but don't take my word on that.

Hmmm that's a good call upgarage.... but you've still got to get under the car to undo the drain plug anyway etc. Don't you have to remove all the plastics etc from the center console (assuming you're still using them)?

How do you know when it's full....measure it out exactly using a jug or something?

You could undo the fill plug first but that kinda defeats the purpose...then you may as well just fill it from there.

    Cheers for the POV...

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

i remove the drain plug.. remove the filler plug.. drain the oil.. put the drain plug back in.. (leaving the filler/check plug out) and fill through the shifter.. once it starts to leak out the filler/check plug, she is full same as the diff.. easy as 1...2...3...

but yeh, you could do it this way also the full mark will be when oil starts to come back out of the filler plug.. good work arjay

also a quick note.. T-50's LOVE RUNNING ON AUTO TRANS FLUID!! garuntee if your gear box is a bit notchy or crunchy, befor you pull it out for a rebuild.. drain the box oil (ha ha ha box oil.. groooosss..) and refil with some good old dextron III auto trans fluid

My bf just changed my gearbox oil yesterday. He used a old 1litre trans oil bottle with a 10cm hose conneted to the lid. He filled up the bottle then got under the car and squeesd the oil in. He had to refill the bottle and repeat the process a few times, but it didn't take long before the box was full.

If you're filling it up till it runs out the filler, is ther car supposed to be level when filling the box?

yeh have the car sitting as level as you can.. the exact amount of oil in the gear box doesn't really matter as much as an engine.... as long as it's with in a few 00ml...
