I dont think it does, just adding the extra volume is usually good enough, using the heat-soak properties of the oil, as long as the cooler is mounted quite close. Mabey plumb the inlet/outlet lines so convection helps to move the oil?
How can i setup an oil cooler for my diff?
Does it need a pump?
me no idea?!?

The more horsepower or the longer you run the car speeding the quicker the diff oil will become thinner and thinner until you start hearing that grinding noise like your diff isn't running any oil at all. It will last longer (like crazy16 said) if you use more oil than standard or an oil cooler.
i was thinking of this also... i would be interested to know.. i know that the E58 4AGZE box runs a cooler, it's just a 10mm u shaped bit of pipe thats about 6 " long comes out, and goes back in.. does the job nicely, and the celica GT4 st185 box has the same thing (those are the ones i have seen so far) i don't know if they have a pump to physically pump it through or what..
well well well, the trd ae86 bible had all the part numbers and a fucken few pages devoted to the diff oil cooler...and yes the group a cars ran a pump.
HA
/ps...unless you guys are doing 7 hour long races, ie...bathurst...its 100% pointless.
Or your drifting with 450ps at the wheels with the tiny jdm lsd, in any case prevention is better than the cure.
well, who the hell is going to do that?
Cough**
hahahahaha if you can get 450rwhp through a T series diff longer engough for the oil to do that, you deserve a pat on the back.. even if you had billet axles the crown wheel and pinion is just too small to be strong enough for not really that power.. but the torque that will be produced.. if you were building a 450rwhp 86, a different diff would definitly be on the cards, unless you want to be buying up all the t series crown wheel and pinions and munching them all within miniutes of hard driving.....
