This may seem a silly question but, why use the 't' series diff over the 's' series diff if they are both drum brakes and you can buy LSD's for both of the shelf??
Plus you have to go to all the trouble of cuting and welding the sway bar mounts![]()
Yes you can mount aus-spec sway bar onto a T-Series diff....If you also cut and weld the sway bar mounts from the S-series diff onto the T-Series diff![]()

Where do you get an S Series LSD from?
You can't there housing is too small.

T-series have larger axles (more splines) than S-series and a larger housing. They are all round a stronger diff than an S-Series.
There is no aftermarket LSD that will fit and S-Series. All Japanese AE86s came with a T-Series diffs...thus aftermarket LSDs are made for T-Series diffs.

It all makes sence now, I didn't realise there was a difference betwine the Jap spec and aus spec non-LSD diff![]()
I'll start hunting around for a 'T' series diff ASAP, but in the mean time,............now where did I put that welder![]()
