why?
hi guy's just wondering is it possible to fit a rb in a ke and if it's possible how muchi have seen a rb25det inside a hachi in aus so i thought it would be possible
why?
i would say yes it would fit. i found the ke bay is longer than the 86, the radiator support sits forward more. i have heaps more room i n front of my motor in the 70 than i do the sprinter, when it was alive...
have a look of some pics in the members rides section of 86 and 70 bays.
im with ae71 neo
if you want more power nos the 4k... it wont blow
hahaha
I'm in the same boat... why? if u said RB25DET or even RB26DETT it would be more understandable... I dont even understand why people bother with RB20's in S13's... such a waste of money time n effort...
Im coming from a RB20DET silvia.
I will tell u unless u have actually owned one for a while u have zero say what so ever in this matter of a RB20DET powered silvia.
Bang for buck there great...they sound so damn sexy and they can move quite quick with right support mods....if u have no exp with this matter done comment on it...its only usless boostcruising style of talk.
I have seen a sprinter with a RB25det in it and from reports it was jumping over the highway like a rabbit on crack...very quick...but with bad weight balance.

just do a 20B conversion![]()
Ur right... i have never owned a s13 with a rb20... and i understand where ur coming from... u love ur car and rb20 are a not a bad motor...
This is my point... i've driven a few r32 gtst... i've also driven s13,s14 and s15 with various stages of tune (but none really hard worked unfortunately) Is there anything that u cant do with a SR20 that u can with a RB20..? RB25 and RB26 are a different story. Only advantage i can think of is that u'll be able to fit a skyline box which is stronger... but then again how much power are u gonna be pushing...?
4 cylinder alloy block vs 6 cylinder steel block... is the extra weight really worth it... i personally dont think so... and u think other wise... everyone is entitled to their own opinion...
Dont give me this shit about boost crusing style of talk... i've tried to the best of my ability to contribute to this site and the question raised is very valid.
Dont get cut just because u have one... try explaining ur choice and what benefits u get from having such a conversion... that'll help with peoples decision...
mmm 20b
i get all excited just saying it.
i wanna do tripple solex carbs on a cranky ported 20b with 3 2 inch staino pipes exiting behind the front wheel.
Hello,
Ok fact still remains u have no exp with one....u have driven a r32 sr20 etc, that mean nothing really.
Sr20det is great damn engine such nice smoother power that really kicks in down low while the rb is mid range power....there is one huge thing that makes people do rb20 conversions.
There cheap and they give a great damn upgrade aswell...and the price u pay for the extra sr u can work the rb a bit and get better result on a normal budget.
Im selling my rb-silvia to move to a sprinter.
A rb in a silvia is nothing like a r32 or even a normal sr20 silvia...they drive completey different. its much harder to work with them.
Im not trying to cut u up or anything u just hear the rb silvia bashing so much and people have 0 exp with them.
I personally would put a rb over a ca into a ke70 cause a rb is damn heavy and so is a ca....ask anyone a rb is a ca engine minus 2 cylinders.
Or if u dont want weight issues stay loyal to toyota and got 4age or 4agze.
