lol needing softer spring for 7kg, thats like needing a stiffer spring when u have a passenger....
hey everyone i read this article about a guy who got himself a fibreglass hood which saved a grand total of 7kgs right....he was goin on about how the turn in would be greatly improved and he'd need softer springs now n all this other shit...7kgz he's gotta be full of it right? has anyone done any weight reduction? does it help much?
lol needing softer spring for 7kg, thats like needing a stiffer spring when u have a passenger....
im no expert but i dont think that 7kg less in your car would make that much diffrence that you would new springs.
lol yeah i thought it was bullshit too. so has anyone done any weight reduction? wats your oppinion on it?
Hahaha, i know the exact article your talking about....
It was a article by MotoP if i remember correctly in America.
My only suggestion with weight reduction is dont go Carbon fibre in anything unless the item is made 100% of carbon fibre and is actually worth the bang for buck. Go for Fibre glass, it most cases it cost heaps less then the carbon item and the weight loss in comparison to the carbon item isn't that far off.
But if your into the carbon fibre just for the look, then thats you decision as well.
lol yeah thats the article. actually i dont think carbon fibre looks all that great.
oh blinky nice sig but yeah thats good that u cant tell cuz i really like my interior n my air con
anyone else got any usefull info? actually il just shut up for a while n let u's all post up
i pulled out most of my interior except door trims and some of the dash. aircon is next to go as it doesn't work anyway. doors can be easily retrimmed with VB beach towels. apparently
cheers
also, i haven't noticed much difference as i still have 4AC and stock suspension so it'll handle and run like a pile of shit anyway
You know I swear I noticed my car felt better after removing the aircon gear.. (not under dash stuff as of yet)
maybe it depends on your level of sensitivity to your car.
Grant.
A good place to start is with wheels and suspension.
I'd look at lighter rims before a glass/carbon bonnet, two advantages then less unsprung weight = better handling and less weight overall.
