Noooo wire brush, used carb cleaner and a cloth.
I have an AE92 short block and i was wondering if i was to use a wire brush to clean off the carbon on the top of the pistons would it make the piston weaker/fail earlier.
Noooo wire brush, used carb cleaner and a cloth.
or kerosene/petrol and cloth
Definately don't use a wire brush. With a few decent scratches you will create hot spots and they lead to premature failure. A good soak in petrol and carbi cleaner will do the job.
Run what ya brung...............and make damn sure ya brung enough!!!!
Or a quick spray of brake fluid/carby cleaner and sum very soft steel wool.
Done it before, never had trouble with it.
Cheers

Insert witty comment here....
letting them soak overnight in water despersant (wd40, inox) etc etc.. will make the job alot easier..
