Just wondering, I have my Red P's in NSW and am under the new Non turbo law. Now I love the AE86 and want to have one, but I have been trying to work out whether or not I am allowed (legally) to own an ADM Sprinter, with a JDM AE86 Twincam engine.
I'm not sure if it is completely true, but I heard you are not allowed to have any engine modifications under the new non turbo law. but reading over the RTA's webpage for it, the mention of "no engine modifications" doesn't appear to be there.
There's the website if someone wants to check.
Now presuming that the law does not allow modifications, does this mean I could still legally put a bone stock JDM engine in there as the sprinter came out with this engine from the factory in Japan? As on the RTA website they say that a modification is anything that is fitted to the car that is not from the factory. Now you could say, well the Sprinter came from the Australian factory with the 4ac not the 4age, but if you could prove to an engineer that they did come out of the factory with this engine in Japan, would it be legal?
Thanks Guys any info would be greatly appreciated.
