so when you gunna slap in on your car?
sorry for the late reply as my broadband was fcuked last night so i could even reply or post pics!
i must admit this wasnt my idea, i had been thinking about doing this for aghes tho but was unsure of what materials to us as a lip i was think of a bit of bent sheet metal carefully bent on i think it's called a "bender" in the uni workshop but figure it to be too difficult so i started to think about using somethin like a rubber seal as it heaps flexible but i couldnt fin any in the right shape.
anyway...
heres the spray paint i used with the bumper in the background after first coat of paint, the brand is SEPTONE and the cans are "Bumper Primer" and "Bumper Bar Black" for all those people who cant see the pics straight away.
so when you gunna slap in on your car?
soon!!!!1 i just sanded back first coat and it was very good im just doing a 2nd coat to make it that little bit better so it will probly be on in 2-3 days hopefully!
just in time for it to be scratched on spoon drains and speed humps!
look good!..so this lawn edge is really flexable stuff?
its a bit flexable plus it's strong
ps drift86s no body filler used
heres a finished sorry its a night time photo
more tomorrow
only 2 coats!
Looks good. Looking forward to better photos.
indicators r still needing to be clear coated over, but they can wait 4 a while
its pretty close to the ground, as i was reversing out of the drive way it carried stacks of gravel on to the road, so ican only enter or leave the drive way front wards
im now pretty sure i will have to get a smaller lip when i put my coilovers in![]()
dori_86, do u have any ideas how to make the gap smaller between ur bumper and the pakres/guards(in pic 2)?
Nice write up, keep going mate! And a guide for taking out the front bumper will be nice!
Cheers
not sure on how to get a smaller gap but im guessing the gap would be smaller normally, but my bumper bar brackets (the thing that holds ur bumper on in position) are bent and sh!t so i sort of had to force it on![]()
to take ur bumper off theres 2 ways and one is a hell of a lot easier...
un bolt the bolt lacated at:
side of bumper at top -both sides
side of bumper bottom -both side
big ass bolt under ur (front) indicators
then theres a tricky nut and bolt to get to which if u look at you bumper the only thing holding it on is it the bolt runs down thru the piece holding the bumper on just use a socket and wrench to get it off, so it stops u from sitting ther for ages undoun the bolt but in fact its just twirlyn the nut & bolt
once this is undone
MAKE SURE U UNDO / UNCLIP UR FORNT INDICATORS!!
b4 u rip it off or u will have a fun time re soldering tabs to the wires!!
done!
the bumper bracket will now be attached to ur bumper it shoul be fairly straight forward to c that all u have to do is unscrew these to take off the bracket to get to your indicators
but if ur only wanting to get ur indicators off the refreshn them then just unscrew from the front with out having to take ur whole bumper off, but if ur painting the bumper u will have to remove the indicators to get a better paint finish
i'm going to have to claim the discovery of the bunnings edging spoiler!!!
yours looks a shit load better though!! nice one! give it a week in the sun and it will be moulded to your front bar then you can rivet it.
right down the bottom
if any one in brissy wants any of this stuff i have about 4 metres left.
