it's probably a stuffed alternator. If you have a multimeter, you can check the voltage output (should be around 14 volts), otherwise take it to an auto elec. and ask them to check it![]()

i think if we translate what shortround was saying into full sentences he was getting at:
if youve been driving your car and then the battery is flat when you try start it its probably your alternator not charging the battery. when the car is running take a multimeter and measure the voltage across the two posts of battery. it should be high 14's if its not its either not charging properly or not charging at all.
what voltage is the battery giving just sitting?
the fact you said you are jump starting, does this mean the car runs fine?
if so your starter solenoid may be buggered or your starter is jamming.

Easy and quick check is to start the car then take the batt + temin and see if it will still run, if it does then the alt is good and batt is dead.
