    i was wondering what a slip joint is.. when talking about exhaust systems.. ?? i just heard it and was wondering what is .. they car the was being described was a N/A 4age..

    any help would be great

    it's basically a join so for example where the extractors go over the exhaust is a slip joint

    most cheap exhaust shops use this in conjuction with a Mig weld.. pipe of the same dia is slightly flared, then the next pipe slips in.. then weld.. i've seen some with no welding..

    interesting note.. pacemaker have patented the 'slip join' that tapers the right way like the flow goes into the slip join.. thats why most of the off the shelf cheap extractors for geminis, rollas etc etc all those jig pipes like 'wildcat' 'motorvator' etc etc have the slipjoin the wrong way, and it disturbs the flow, but they don't have a choice..
