    hello everybody.

    i was discussing with 4AGE - 86 whether or not i could keep my ra60 which is for sale at the moment and stick a 4agze into it. at one stage i was going to put a 1ggte into but decided not too.
    now most people say that i would not be worth doing the conversion and that the gze doesnt have enough power. what do people think?

    3SGE or 3SGTE....
    find an SA63 at the wreckers..
    get the SA63 crossmember..
    engine mounts
    gearbox bellhousing and or gearbox if you want a spare one..(mostly W55 behind the 2S)
    sump off the 2S
    and oil pickup off the 2S
    there you go.. halfway there! and so far it all botls in..
    dizzy mods are required..

    but you will have alot of fun with it!! depending on what your model is exactly.. you can get the IRS F series rear end in there.. with an LSD like Tim's RA65 with 1GGTE

    so is that a no to the 4agze?
    how much would the 3sge conversion cost (inc engine)?
    it would all have to be fairly cheap, otherwise ill just sell both my cars and buy a sprinter.

    is the gearbox a bolt up to the RA60's W57?

    could you use a CAS and coil pack ignition from a 4AGZE?

    if running mircotech computer?

    The RA60 is a fairly heavy car. 1.6 litres, even supercharged isn't going to have the torque to make an RA60 a fun car in my opinion.

    Having said that, I've driven a 3T-GTE RA60, and it went pretty well, though didn't set the world alight.

    gen 2 3sgte front cut from a GT4 celica would be around 2G last time i checked.. add another $1500 for the parts you need and a little extra just incase.. that should get you almost all the way there if things are all good..

    a 3SGE gen 2 from an MR2 would be around $1000 they still knock out about 120kw from factory..

    if you don't want to get your hands dirty or unwilling to learn etc etc.. start signing blank cheques...

    all W55/56/57/58/59 gearboxes can interchange all the bellhousings from eachother.. RA60 has an R series engine.. SA63 has an S series engine.. so you need the bellhousing that goes from the S series > W5X

    if your running a aftermarket computer you can use any thing that ecu can run.. making it fit is another concern... Ant does a DLI converter to use the stock ECU for RWD 3S motors...

    if we were going to do the conversion i would probably end up doing a lot of it, seeing as EMD- Ra60 doesn't really have much experience. i would like to do it, but i dunno if i have the time, or patience. you could probably buy an aftermarket turbo manifold that would fit on a RWD config engine too couldn't you?
