I'm wondering if they came with a factory plastic splash guard cause it seems quite bare at the front and I guess everything from water to stones are hitting the pulleys and belts.
Curious....

One of the latest issues of autosalon - the one which has a feature on josh and his sprinter- also has a segment on how to DIY a front underbar diffuser out of ply. (the job has pics and they do it to their project AE86) sounds tacky but if u see the article, the thing is hidden, can be sprayed to match, and stops any shit from splashing up.
it ends up being kind of T shaped - to leave the wheels room to do their shit. the front has the same curve as your bar. but i suppose some lips wouldnt have a flat underside ideal for screwing the thing on.
IT is then a permanent extention to your front bar, so if you need it gone for access purposes, you take of ur front bar. thing is your front lip needs to be low enough so that the ply board can extend back to just in front of the sump bolt - or further if u dont mind pulling your front bar off for oil changes.i guess then it would double up as stopping oil dots on driveways.?
its also supposed to have aero benefits but thats neither here nor there. looks a worthwhile job. could be done in about an hour or two.
^^ y bother? they jsut get in the way when your trying to work on the car
It would probably be good for airflow through the radiator.
