I was just wondering if the loom for a 4age in an 86 can be used when converting the engine to gze?

if not, what is needed? any info on this conversion would help.

Yes and no. It will definitely not be an unplug GE ECU and plug in GZE ECU and start driving affair.

The ECU plugs will be different, there are a few things different between the engines (eg idle control, SC relay) and a few things in different places (eg TPS).

However you could conceivably butcher your old GE loom and splice it into the plugs on the GZE computer and add the few wires needed.

I think you would be way better off pulling the loom out and starting from scratch. You'll end up with a proper job and find it very educational.
