on the contrary, typically the higher the octane the less likely a car is to ping... the upside with running higher octane fuel all the time is you can advance your timing a little further, will give a little more power

grab urself a pair of really sharp scizzors or preferabley a big knife. pop the hood. now running off a pully there should be your air con. slice the belt connected to your air con n theres an instant 7 horses or more for ur little 4ac. possibley add a pod filter will give you around 3 or 4 extra horsepower and adding a cannon'll give you another 3 or 4 and these 2 items can be re-used when u eventually get a DECENT engine for it. also another good idea would be weight reduction. just the standard things like strip the interior take out all unneccessary seating chipping off sound deadening n it should be noticeabley better. have fun man

take the immissions gear off, advance the timing alittle, loose the front muffer.

easy budget ideas might improve performance the smallest bit.

emission gear would be the filter and all that crap...

that turbo idea would be a good move if you not too keen on a 4age.
Talking to dave on msn and he really compares it to that of a 4agze, which is bloody good. would love to see the thing in action.

Basically yea, just advance the timing, muffler etc, just do every little thing you can thing of to get it a bit more

get a better carby even, and run the bastard on 98... rofl if you can afford the prices these days... i cant
