i like this threadi am unable to kill mine. Sat at 6k for most of the archerfield track, missed a gear and it valve bounced at 7500. Still runs like a trooper, i do maintain it well though.
8000 revs in a mighty 4k, i so have to try that, i valve bounce mine at elast 5 times a day, and it still goes semi alright, i'll see how i go before i start my 4age conversion, im thinking of takign my car out to archy to blow the crap out of it and see how it lasts :2thumbs: i might even film it for u all

stroked 2L ca18-ae86 in the build...eta xmas 2012?
my first 86 was a t boned pos that i used to learn manual in
the vehicle was absolute stocker
blew the head after being side swiped by a truck
still thrashed it w/o oil or water and no muffler of any kind for about a month before it went to the wreckers, still running...
Mine has had a blown head gasket, they repaired it and it runs...
I was talking to a guy ages ago at the BP Northbound Bruce Highway, he used to build them. He couldn't kill it, despite taking it on the highway at speed, and shifting it back to first and dumping the clutch. Engine would go nuts, but would still work and work well.
4AGE is here! Cheers 44GTE and Anthony for your help! http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/fo...ad.php?t=10384

actually now that i think about it, its probably more, as in every gear every time i change gear, cept fourth of course, speeds are too hektik in 4th![]()
doing burnouts woohoo 2nd gear 6000rpm foot wa down but it wouldn't rev more
ha ha ha what pig butits now my expensive baby
LOl
last one reminds me of the time i was doing heli's in the first 86 i had (the one with a blown head gasket, t- boned and side swiped)
i failed to mention when side swiped, it snapped both of the rear shocks welds, so only springs to asorb out back
can you just imagine doing heli's in something thats doing the equiverlant of a hydrulics suspension show bouncing everywhere
no line, just heaps of dots forming a circle
suprised i survived that thing considering @ 80kph on the average highway you would be driving virtually lock to lock to keep it straight !
then again, it probably taught me a lot of the skills that lay dormant these days...
do you use first the whole track in your 4ac?? i use second for turn one, bogs down but i found 1st just doesn't get enough speed, even at 6k+. well driven none the less![]()
