    Hey guys.

I'm looking at buying a car from another state and just wondering if anyone's ever had problems changing rego over to NSW from anywhere else.

We're a pretty tight-arse state when it comes to cars and the RTA :\ My biggest concern is being put over the pits and being pulled up on any number of mods, from aftermarket steering wheel (I was told there's a legal size?) to bonnet pins... you get the idea.

Anyone in NSW had problems with the RTA and their Sprinter when they tried to change rego over? Or in general, been put over the pits and had anything pulled up? Just after experiences, so share away

    Cheers.

You will need your car to be blue slipped and anything that doesn't conform with the blue slip regulations you will need to have engineered.
Once it is all engineered though its good as you don't really have to worry about it anymore.

Maybe you could just buy my car and you wont have to worry about anything!? It's in NSW already and all engineered, check my for sale thread and make me an offer

    Cheers fellas

About mod plates - if a modification is engineered in another state, does that carry over to the new state? Or does it have to be re-engineered?

And nice Levin, Slippy... just a little out of my price range, although my gf would like the colour

I think it's on toymods theres a guide thing for modifications and it tells you all the basic whats leegal and whats not. I've been told that it's applicable for all states but I'm not sure if thats right or not. Anyway it should give you a good idea of whatll get thru and what wont.

If you think that it sucks with engo's not covering different states feel bad for me, for the defence for I will be/have moved between 4 different states in 2.5 years...

So technically im suppossed to change the rego and get the car re-engineered every time...

    Thanks boys.

Yeah, I went into the RTA and waited in that giant line and basically they said what everyone else has said-- have to re-engineer, go over pits before rego, etc etc.

    Shame :\
