im almost ready to set about to do my first project / engine swap into a ea86 sprinter and i got some questions....
engine: 4AGE 20v or 4AGE 16v (read below)
im having trouble deciding which engine i want, i want the installation to be as painless as possible, as it will be my first time. dont really want to fuck things up lol. so which has the least amount of issues when installing? why?
regarding engine mounts that the 4AC sits on, is it a bolt out, bolt in job? or do i have to remove old mounts and reinstall them somewhere else for the new engine??
reason i ask is that im trying to find a sprinter in good condition with a blown headgasket or something (anyone know how much this will cost?), remove the 4ac engine and replace with 4A-GE
now, i need some rough prices on what the parts im gonna do the car
4AGE front cut
recondition gearbox if needed, probably get stronger syncro's (done by mechanic)
buy new waterpump (ill fit)
buy a new clutch (ill fit)
machine flywheel if needed (get mechanic to do)
1.5 LSD
2.5" exaust
4-2-1 extractors
change timing belt
after that ill be looking to stiffer up the suspention
car is to be used as a slut car to thrash around and to teach me more about cars etc. so must be road legal.
