    hey mate,
    i have a sr20 ae71 and still have a little gap over where the shifter is, what can i do to cover it up neatly like you did, what did you do to make your so clean and tidy on the inside coz i am getting hot air coming through.

    Gday

    Completely cut out the shifter area

    Then make up a plate to cover the hole and weld and sikaflex it on, then you can cut out the old holes that the shifter boot screws into then weld them underneth the new plate and then drill threw the new plate to expose the boot screw holes or maybe you can use tech screws to fix the boot im not shore.

    hey man do u hav much clearance when cars in second between handbrake an gear stick..
    mines is really close jus wonderin if ya did anything t give more clearance?

    i cut down my handbrake. unscrew the end nob, take off the plastic handle, cut down the metal pipe bit. than put it back together.

    yeah you just screw the button on further and cut the spring down a bit.

    if you wanted to cut it down heaps you could cut the rod down and super glue the button to the rod.
    but you wont need to cut it down that much.

    Just reverse the shifter for a quick fix, doesnt feel that wierd.

    i diddnt think of that. i might try that!
    i got a short shifter off ebay. $70 works great.
