make 4-ac sound better for no cost !

this is easy and has proberly been done before but i will post this to help people who have a 4-ac.
unscrew top of carb air filter and turn it up other way and screw back on. it leaves a gap for more air, but more importantly an nicer and louder intake noise. here is photo. it sounds a lot nicer but proberly does not gain power. but the important thing is it sounds nicer

Yeah I did this too, not bad for free. If your not owrried about it looking sketchy get busy with a hacksaw and get rid of the snorkle and enlarge the hole around it.

If you look you can remove a fair amount of metal. Then it will really roar!

had this done to my first one. did wonders for it. made it breathe so much easier. tho drank heap more petrol. tho. sounded heaps good.

i did this last week when i was bored, just cut a piece of perspex and drilled a hole in the middle

All my old thrashers had no air filters, the induction noise was sick! especially from those webbers of cortinas.

When i tried to do this the thread of the bolt didnt stick out enough for me to screw it back up again. So instead i pulled the lid of a bucket, poked a hole in it n whacked it on top, it looks really neat. Similar to dctrd's idea, yet saves you plenty of time.
