Thread: T18 tailshaft

    hey guys.
    i have another problem again.
    i can't find a t18 tailshaft to swap the rear half into my ae86
    what other tailshaft could i use?
    ra40 or sumthing??

    I've got one, but I have heard that you can acutally use the 86 one if you move it slightly forward into the gearbox? something like that? read around

    the only difference is the lenght which is like 2-4cm shorter than the adm shaft, as long as the car isnt lowered it should be alright... or somethign

    I have just had a T-18 Diff fitted, and car is slightly lowered.

    The original T-18 shaft cannot be rebuilt, so a Hilux shaft was moddified, with new universals and balancing etc.

    Before I knew what had happened it cost me $325

    But this one can slide shorter and longer to compensate for more lowering, or big bumps etc.

    im just gonna use my stock sprinter one and get it shortened n balance
    they say 150

    yeah i was gunna say, an alternative to using the 2nd half of a t18 shaft is to just get it shortened

    if you're reffering to that hilux shaft, i think you might find what he meant was its just rigged to slide futher into the box to compensate for bumps or car lowering, much like a standard tailshaft only on a larger scale
