    Hi guys

I know that this topic has been touched on before, but I didn't really get a clear answer in regards to what I was looking for.

In regards to fitting HIDs on the aus spec ae86, I've been told that due to the configuration of the reflector in the lights, it causes all the light to shine everywhere, as opposed to just in front of the car, which could be very annoying to everyone on the road, as opposed to the person just in front of me is this correct? Also, what problems will I face if putting HIDs in my ae86? legality issues put aside

I hope what I'm saying is clear and understandable

    Thanks guys

yeah... two of my friends and I are getting some, and they asked me if I wanted to, so just seeing if there'll be any issues with it before I fork out around $250

But the ones we were thinking of were these:

Any suggestions as to which is better?

I have a h4 hid kit to go in. Make sure you use a relay, even if the kit doesnt come with one. HID's use less power than halogens while running, but they use alot more to start up.

    Thanks for the tips mate

won't the 8k ones be too blue/purplish and attract more attention from cops?

I know that HIDs on an old car in the first place will attract attention, but isn't the blue/purple light considered illegal, in regards to colour wise?

the cheap HID's for sale are only single beam.. my magna has a seperate section with a H3 that luminates with high beam.. as with the 2nd stage H4 bulb.. so if i use the single beam HID's i still have a high beam there.. in the others..

but in an 86.. it's just 1 2 beam H4.. so you'll need to get a 2 beam H4 HID kit.. which are more expensive.. that is to be legal that is...
