I have a stock 4A-C in my Sprinter. Every time the car warms up to operating temp it stalls. Also my automatic choke doesn't work. Does anybody know much about the 4A-C's automatic choke? And why it stalls???
cheers...

just scrap it and get a new 4ac u can pic em up for 50bucks anyways
this is very common, has something to do with the auto choke and is pretty much impossible to fix.
just jam it open thats what i done runs fine idles low to mine used to get stuck close was a bitch
also, the carby might be dirty....
Mine used to stall sometimes when it was idling and I had to keep my foot near the pedal sitting at the lights. Never fixed it...
i have the same problem, feels like its gonna stall
while im driving at low speeds or at a stop... and recently
i tried the experiment of turning the cover
of the air filter around for more air suction(awsome suction)![]()
its ok at hight revs but low revs or idling it feels really bad
run through the basic's of the fuel problems...
carby is receiving fuel (ie fuel pump working)
fuel filter is clean/new
air filter is clean/new
all hoses and lines to and from carby aren't cracked and or leaking
fuel bowl is filling up and staying level
- give carby a big clean up
- might have to replace needle and seat
I've had a similar problem to this before.
Turned out that the distributor was worn and needed to be rebuilt
(pain in the arse). but check the carby first as that is the most
likely cause.
