ok i've got most of this sorted out in my head but theres one thing that i can't get a straight answer on.
The surge tank i have has one pipe on the top, one pipe on the side near the top, and two on the side near the bottom.
At the moment i'm triying to decide where i should hook up the return line from the motor to the surge tank. Is there bubbles in this return line?? One guy i talked to said that there is bubbles in this line so i should make it go into a pipe near he top of the tank so it doesn't aerate the fuel in the surge tank! If i were to have this line going into one near tyhe bottom of the tank will the head of fuel in the tank lock up the return??
Basically i'm trying to fix a leaning out problem by changing the setup installed by a previous owner! This setup has a return from the motor to the surge tank but no return from there to the main tank. the return from the engine goes to the pipe on the top of the tank and one of the bottom pipes is blocked off. I want the return to the main tank to go from the top pipe so the return from the engine has to move. I want to know if it will be fine if i just hook it up to the blocked off pipe near the bottom or whether i need to move the one on the side near the top which is the intake! yes this surge tank is funny becuase the way i see it one of the pipes near the bottom needs to be at the top to stop any shite from swirling off the bottom, but this is what i have so i need to make the best of it.
Hope that this confuses the hell out of you!!![]()
any help would be appreciated!
