Hi All,
Well as you all know I sold my hachi a few months ago now and I can tell you it was a bad move on my part.
I miss owning and driving her so much im thinking of trying to afford another one. At the moment im paying back my loan I took out for half the car i own now. Paying back $200.00 a week which leaves me $305 a week to play with / save / spend on the gf!!![]()
All i want to do is try find a hachi and gradually fix it how i wanted my other hachi to be like.
This time im going to move away from the lazy me and leave the "oh it will get fixed one day" and actually make use of the car.
Everytime i see one on the road it hurts to think i sold my car, but we have to move on.
Since im on a tight budget, things might take awhile. Though i want to get a few more thousand from my bank and add to loan...
Aim: Bring the happiness back into the life of a SW Sydney man by creating his dream ride after he sold 86 by doing an 86 again!
Plans:
Find the Beast - (aka find a stocker) -$XXXX?
This is the hardest thing these days is to find a decent condition hachi at a reasonable price. Everyones dreams i guess lol.
Engine - Need some non-stock pow3r! - $1500MAX??
This is not the first thing i want to do, but hey it will still be on the list.
Basically, rip the 4AC out, chuck in a 4AGE (16V i guess as its the cheapest option).
Exhaust -?
Not sure about this one?
Suspension - Handling yes. - $1000??
Well this, i havent looked in to it, but im hoping AJPS can help me out on this one
Rims - why new? - $800??
Some second hand rims are easy enough for me
Rear Interior - rip it? - Free - sell goods
Rip the back interior out, seat, trim, carpet. the painted.
Front Interior - hmm - $<500??
Leave this till end - just want a bucket oh and a different non-frisbee steering wheel.
Brakes - stock, yes please. - $0.00??
I assume is your putting a 4age 16v in stock is ok?
Rear-end - blown? - $1500??
Well to have some fun, t-series with lsd. (probably the most expensive other than paint)?
Engineers Cert - we want it to be legal. - $~500??
Engineered as a 2 seater.
Paint - later - not thinking about this one.
At the end, like after a year of saving.
I have probably forgotten lots of stuff but you get the idea.
I was hoping if this gets under way some local people with the know-how and wanna help out, can lend a hand getting her up an running. BBQ's and beers on meetc.
So yeah, what do you think?
Possible to do it on the cheap and keep it away from the money sucking workshops with labour costing more than the car?
Let me know your thoughts, or any help you know off? AJPS suspension bits. etc.
Regards,
Chris who wants to get back in the groove of the 86![]()
