    i have just recently poped and engine 4agze in my aus sprinter!

    im doin my fuel system now, i need some help to install the new fuel

    pump.. im not exactly sure what it is.. i think its a vl turbo one...

    any help on how to modify and install the pump would be appriciated...

    is that external pump? you may want to get a surge tank

    What does a surge tank do. I will have to go through this process soon and i have heard a lot of people talk about a surge tank, but have no idea of what it does.

    i think its purpose is to keep a constant supply of fuel to ur car.. sorta like a second fuel tank
    correct me if im wrong

    well for a start you can put the tank back together as you dont need to open up. Now after that buy about a meter or two of high pressure efi fuel line for the tank and the engine bay with some efi clamps to suit.

    so is the fuel pump an external one?
    i was told to get to my existing fuel pump i had to drop the tank
    so thats what i did.. now that i have access to it.. i need to know how
    to put the fuel pump in...
    im kinda noob so a detailed steps on what to do will help
    after i buy the lines then what do i do?

    dont worry about all that shit, ill exlain it the noob way

    see that long pipe that goes into the tank and has the filter thing on it? hook this up to the inlet of the fuel pump then hook up the outlet of the fuel pump to the fuel feed line (with high pressure fuel hose and proper EFI hose clamps of course)

    keep the return line as stock, but if you mess up the lines, the return line is the one that goes into the tank, as opposed to the one that ends at the plate.

    on the street you wont notice surge until you get down to a quatrter of a tank, you can drive when the empty light is on but it is a pain in the ass.


    *hint* if you just install a swimmer high pressure pump, it will surge worse than if you follow my above instructions,

    if you plan on drifting or racing on a quarter tank of fuel, install a surge tank.

    yeah my mistake, it is an internal type, may I sujest you save yourself some hastle and use an external type?
