hey all just bought a drift buttn from justjap i got to the site from a link they had on ebay which said they are universal and as you al know and ae86 has a thread whish handbrake button screws onto, this "universal" button doesnt, it looks like its suposed to slide over your regular button but the button is to big to fit in the hole in the handbrake, is ther anyway to make it fit or should i just get a refund? any help would be appreciated and if you know where to buy a button that fits let me know.

    cheers, brendan

im not to sure as i have never tried to fit one up myself but maybe you could just take the button out get a rats tail file and kind of bore out the handbrake button hole?

Or what i would do, refund, get 10 bucks worth of fuel in the car and buy a roll of racetape

Yea mine didnt fit, had to use a screw driver an bend out the steel tube to make it bigger. But that means you also have to lose the rubber grip. Drift handbrake buttons are great to give it a squirt more oversteer

drift buttons for AE86 have to be the ones with a thread instead of just pushed over, they fit both 86 and rx7 (not sure exaclty which model), or just get ur rear seat button take ur old one button out drill a hole and super glue in, then remove spring and Ta Da

i got the just jap one because it works in a way that i can have a normal handbreak if a cops pulls me over and when i press it in its fully hecktic drift buton hehe so yeh thats my reasoning and mainly because it was an impulse buy and it looked kinda pritty

as for fittment i dremled my handbreak cover thing out alil bit so it fitted then glued the stock handbreak button into the drift button

Don't think there illegal, when my car got confiscated it took the copper like 30 seconds to figure out how to engage it. Got defected for other stuff at the time but they didnt list the button, which they would of cos they found everything possible.
