So true. it's built for thrashing round a track with a hint of rear end slide and not for "omg ule look at all that chrome".

Pretty sure the big end's siezed as i can't turn the harmonic balancer/crank any more. There was oil in the engine when i started it up but it obviously didn't pump enough up through the engine. Very, very angry... and devostated as it only took 2 minutes to destroy it!!!!

did you have an oil pressure gauge on it when first started? was the oil pump primed?

didnt hear any big knocking noises?

The oil pupmed was not primed coz i'm a stupid fuck.(i realised after) the thing is last time i started the engine up having drained all the oil it ran fine. i'm pretty sure it was also partly to do with the oil having to travel to a massive remote mount filter and fill it up which wouldn't have helped it. the top end is fine by the way.

perhaps remove the sump in the car and ispect before removing entire engine again.

you may be able to fit a new bearing to fix the problem. i have seen it done before and all was good.

Dad and i are pretty sure that it's just the bearing that needs replacing. i didn't think it was possible to replace the bearing with the cross member in the way?
