Just found this out today, so i figured i'd post it up.
Did you know - You can swap the tailights on your ae71 / ke70 with:
Tailights from a T-18 (TE72), which gives a cool ass jap look. Seriously looks alot better. the tailights look alot bigger due to the abscence of the ugle black strip (above?) the light cluster
Or, should you feel the need..
Tailights from a Corona (XT130). They are the same size, and have the same bolt pattern, although i haven't test fitted them yet. If you get ones from the right period, you can get some sick chrome shiny bits happening. Whatever floats your boat.
however, when changing the lights over, you will need to get the plugs for the new lights, as they are different for all the different models. the wiring is the same, only the plugs are different.

Ok, some pics for you. firstly, the standard ones.
And the T-18 lights. they look alot bigger like i said earlier.
And after doing some further research, i.e. attempting to fit some, i have discovered the XT130 tailights will take some modification to fit. just a quick stint with the drill, and a bit of time with the pliers (the hole where the light assembly goes in is just a smidgin too small) will see them fit. and as im a lazy mo-fo, i couldn't be bothered, so here's the chromey tail lights im talking about.
The corona is my car, btw.

that looks real good, except trying to find t18 tails without the reverise plastic completly fuck will be hard...
Found out today that the TE72 tailights used are actually from a South African model TE72.....!!!?!!!

I could be wrong, but I think the only bling you will get will be the chrome between the top and bottom lenses, and the chrome end bits, as the chrome surround is a seperate part fixed to the rear bodywork
Nope, the chrome surround is part of the light assembly, i took them off. the strip across the boot however, is another matter.
