hey guys. i have a t18 diff that i want to fit into my 86
but i heard that drum axle are different to disc axle
is that true?
as i have disc setup from my previous corona diff
and my t18 diff has a drum axle
so whats the go?
do i need to find a jap spec axle?
or mayb i might b better off find a drum setup n run that?
also how much do i need to shorten my tailsahft to fit it?
as i can't seem to find any t18 tailshaft
t18 and jap 86 diff axles are differant but youre a little mixed up. it has nothing to do with the brakes you run, its the axle housing thats differant to accomadate the bigger bearing the jap axles use.
what youre talking about is a custom disc set up anyway, so just keep the standard axles.

so i can use the t18 axle whether its drum or disc setup rite?
Agreed, its the housing that differs for the bigger bearings.
but the pcd is still the same so disk or drum it doesnt matter, use what you have and it will be fine.
