    G'day...

Been thinking about this for a while...some time ago I read about a Sprinter with a 1ggte, with a T50 behind it(Think it was Zoom - silver car with polished manifold featured in IDB Automotive ad)..apparently the bearings in the gearbox had been replaced with larger ones - the insides machined to fit...

Anyone know about this...is it the gears ot the bearings in the T50 that are the weak point ??

Would the cost of doing this be worth the effort or is the w58 a better option...

I am going quads with big cams on a 4ag and need reliability for the occasional drift day......

    Thanks in advance

personally i dont beleive bearings are goin to make much difference. In my experiance, its the syncros and input shaft that are the weak spots on a t50. But lets face it, they are getting old now and are bound to break sooner or later.

This is coming from someone who has just stripped 2nd behind a stock 20v. So the motor will not make much difference (unless it has one of them dirt turbos on it ) depending how you drive.

slightly off topic, but just wanted to know exactly what the advantages of using the T3 delrin shifter bush are..........is it merely a replacement for and old worn item or does it give the box a nicer shift ect?

lie Dave said T50 behind an N/A motor

W58 for the boosted boys, you will break T50's in boosted applications, get a W58 and leave som 50's for the rest of us!
