I used to be pretty heavily into bikes - just got the one now, and its a dirt bike.

I went through the whole upgrading to bigger and better thing. Started off on a RD250 and went through to a CBR900RR, with a whole lot of interesting stuff in between, including a Yamaha RZ500 (2-stroke V4).

The ONLY reason why I dont ride on the road any more is because I cant afford to lose my licence. I cant control myself on a road bike, especially if there is an opportunity for a wheelie.

Good luck with it. Dont teach yourself how to wheelie and you should be riding for a long time!

    I've got a zx2r. (250cc)
    I'm not off restrictions yet.

I say get it. Bike ARE fun.
Most riders that are being dicks are STILL SAFER than young single mums,
driving holden barina's though small streets, yelling at there child and NOT
    concerntrating on the road.
(no prizes for who knocked me off)

    Last year, broke my leg.
Only started riding again a couple of months ago.

I wouldn't give it up for anything.

On reflection, even if i was driving a car or walking, i think she still would have t-boned me.

When the power restrictions are off,
My choices are - GSX-1300R Hayabusa
    - ZX-10 or ZX-12
    - Honda 1100 Blackbird
    I'm a semi-big guys and i still look funny on 600's

    Note that they are sports-tourers.
(i get a sore back after 3-4 hours on a full sports)

Big downfall is the back and rist soreness but i think you get stronger or used to it after a while.

the ZX-10 is definatly NOT a tourer, its basically a road legal race bike like all the jap 1000's and the ZX-10 is the most powerful of them all!!
