Nice! That'snot abd at all.
I'd hope for a bit more than 140psi on a 16v! I'm not game to test mineThe old one would have ben very high though.
New owner should be happy with that dude.
Howdy lads,
Just took my car down for compression test for the new owner......
The mechanic asked me if the engine has been rebuilt cause the figures i got were so high.....
Anyway i got.
Cylinder 1 - 215psi
Cylinder 2 - 225psi
Cylinder 3 - 225psi
Cylinder 4 - 210psi
He also done a wet compression test where the bit a bit of oil down ur plugs and there was only about a 5psi difference over the 4 cylinders.
The mechanic said a 4 cylinders will usually get 180psi across all cylinders at best.....so damn i must have good compression.
Adam at work just told me he got 140psi across all 4 cyclinders on his 16v lol.

Yeah told him about Adam results compared to mine he just cracked up laughing.....when u driving along on the highwayin 5th gear and u can hear everything humming away and working.....it sounds like a perfect running engine.
Now the compression test has given me a better idea that its quite good engine.
Seems to be the same thing everytime i sell a car.....everything seems to be be perfect on it cause i spend so much time looking after it.....ohwell new car will need no attention by me...only thing it will need is fuel and tyres cause i plan on hammering it!

wats the compression on a stock silvertop 20v?
11.5 on a ST20v,
mine pulled 205-210 psi across all 4.. but i raised the comp a bit when i rebuilt that engine![]()
