the valley cover looks nice in red, what did you do to prepare the plastic before painting it?

the valley cover is actually really average in real life, i didnt prep it as well as i did with the cam gear cover, i am going to do both again in red and black marble, my mate across the street from me can do mad marble effect paint where u lay one coat of like red down then once its dry a coat of black, then while its still wet u get glad wrap and drag it all around all over it, should look trick
but what i did to prep the cam gear cover, will also do this to valley cover as well,
1..i sanded it back to plastic,
2..used plastic primer and sprayed it on really thick,
3..waited a day for it to dry then wet sanded it with 1200 grit paper
4.. repeated steps 2 and 3 about 4 or 5 times, bit overkill but a really wanted to bring the quality out of supercheap "export" cans lol
5.. once i thought it was smooth enough, i then sprayed on some gloss red export paint
6.. repeated steps 2 and 3 a few times, but used red instead of primer
7 ..waited for it to dry, didnt even use clearcoat, i will when i do the marble effect paint
extractors on the car..., took me a fuckin half hour to get those pics onto photobucket, ill get the fuel system up later

got a full exhaust off a s13 this arvo, he was gonna throw it out and it had a heap of 2 inch pipe and a rice spec autotechnica cannon so i started cutting it up, also cam with a cat so im gonna jam some straight pipe through it, this should get me like at least half an exhaust
not far off now man, will be fuckin sick![]()
thanks man
yeah all i gotta do is finish exhaust and it goes to jasons workshop for a day or 2 to put the diff, sierra shocks, tailshaft, clutch master and slave and then goes round the corner to a mates shop to get wired and fuel lines vacuum lines etc hooked up and then a final road tune so it can be driven for a week or 2 till i get the money to tune it so once its running ill give it what its got and see what else i need to do in the suspension department which is what ill be mainly focusing on until its setup just the way i want it (rosejoints everywhere) and then ill do a little more to the motor but i dont wanna do too much as im gonna build a tuff 7age 20v
but yeah ill keep the updates coming and throw up pics of the fuel system when my net stops being homo
cheers
