Actually, thinking about it, that bell over the top is purely to hold the spring captive. Look how it mounts, between the top mount, and has a locator on the inside to keep the spring and helper spring in place.

It is not going to distribute the load any different from having the spring against the body as I said. I dont know if you've seen rear shock situtation on a GX/MX7x, but the shock passes through an opening in the body thats only just bigger than the shock itself. I dont know what its like on MZ11 or any other toyotas for that matter.

when I get my car back (missus daily) i'll get these shocks mounted up and see how they look, take pics etc.

i get what your sayling about that bell shaped thing used as a locator. but im not totally convinced running the car on jsut rear coilovers - well for my soarer at leased, ive read threads on about rear coilovers and the general thinking is that the ma61 (MA61 and MZ10 etc being 95% identical suspension wise) upper mounts arnt strong enough to support them.
but with a few mods it can work out.

im going to run with this idea.

these are the new GReddy High Performance Damper Type-S suspension system for AE86, the fronts are a step back for a Ma61 and wouldnt work but from what ive read and been told is that AE86 rear springs and shocks fit very well and work great (but only standard lenght). so im thinking of fininding those larger adjustable collars or getting them made up. but those gready set up is pretty tempting, not only does the spring have hight adjustment but the shock does as well.

but back to boso thread. hahaha

AUSZOKU would be a great name for a forum... but i'd like to check with maybe some japanise before we name it and the short name we use means something else.

where does everyone live? - copy and add your name to it.

a cruse would be one huge thumbs up for me... this is going to sound stupid but i went down to the spit on the coast yesterday (to take my dog to the dog allowed beach - not for boob crusing reasions) and i was thinking how much better it would be driving my boso style car past all those ricers, they wouldnt know what to do with them selfs let alone a flotilla of us....

but if we do cruse it will not be to the spit. after i got home i checked boostcrusing for any more of those stadium drift event pics and there was already pics from the spit that after noon. hhahahahahahahaha

    for sure!

and it covers such a wide selection of older japanise cars so it would be a pretty good community.

anyone have an idea of a good forum system to use thats free - for the moment at leased.

since this is a pretty new thing in australia it could go either way - jsut like if anyone rembers that. altho seams to be going pretty well.

I have seen that Greddy rear setup before. Looks great, and VERY expensive.

If you get a machinist to make those up, likewise is a big exersize. You can use standard size coiloover bits and pieces to make the same thing with a little bit of adaptation....

ive seen that first pic and didnt think much of that idea but the other three make a bit more sence, if all else fails on the adjustable perch idea ill try that. but may be instead of pvc piping a section of CHS could be used.

well have to make a forum and a the first group buy can be from that guy. fulll mz10 kit
