Now we all know ae71 bits and peices go bolt for bolt with ae86, just like struts. i plan on doing the old pedders setup with the MR2 short stroke shocks and sigma LCA, ive heard off a few people i have to go sprinter struts or the shocks wont fit, and somthing about my stub axle is stightly differant and isnt suited for crazy camber for some reason.
So how differant are they?
Also, am i able to do all the same brake upgrades with a 71 strut as an 86?
70/70 struts are smaller in every dimension. theyre smaller tubes so inserts you can use in an 86 wont work in a 71. the brakes are smaller, and also the bolt spacing on the steering knuckle is differant, so you need to change those aswell if you do get some 86 struts. think the stud axle is a little smaller too.
so you you wanna/kinda have to change to 86 struts to set the car up properly/be able to do all the regular mods.

there is 4 degress different between the king-pin angles on 71 and 86. that is why you need longer LCA's. all the other things mentioned are also true. there are no adjustable inserts avaialble for the thinner 71 strut tube as far as I have found. if you are in brissy area. I can show all this at my workshop
