i dont understand how to take the wheel off my sprinter.

with other cars like my mums rave, the hornpad is seperate from the rest of the wheel, but as u blokes know the whole wheel is one piece on a sprinter.

so if anyone could tell me how to remove it, it would help heaps

    cheers guys

Hahaha, yeah I had this problem also the first time round.

You'll find the nut under the actual "sprinter" logo on the wheel. Just get like a flathead screwdriver and jam it along the edged of the badge, and you'll find that it's like a secret compatment underneath.

Just make sure you actually jam the screwdriver along the actual edge of the cover, cus the first time i did mine, i just did it along the badge, and took the badge off, but not the cover...

also........leave the nut on loosly(one full turn) when you are pulling the wheel off the spline..... cos if you take the nut right off... you might smack your self in the face with the steering wheel...

If u have a 2nd person handy it is easy to get the wheel off, wind the nut so it is level with the end of the thread, get 1 person to sit in the car pulling the steering wheel towards them, then the other person get a SOFT (copper) Hammer and hit directly down on the end of the steering shaft, should only take a few sharp blows to get the wheel free.

Remember the steering wheel itself is soft steel. Alot of your efforts is wasted on flex. No im not jking.

Spray that shit with wd40 let it sit for 20mins. Get a socket slighty larger then the spline and hit the steering wheel on further, yes further, then grap that fuker at 9 oclock and 3 oclock and wiggle side to side pulling towards you. And yes leave the nut partially on as too not bust your head.

It will come off. Works for me everytime. When you reinstall the steering wheel put some grease on that shit so its easier next time.
    Insert witty comment here....

well the wheel spline is a tapered fit, so it jams on once you do the nut up. all you need is a steering wheel puller which you can make or buy. or use a big 2 jaw puller. else you can pull it and tap it from behind but it can be a huge effort, hit you in the face and damage the wheel.
