well im from uk and got my first rwd car 3weeks ago and its an 85 ae86 gtv, 87000km full service history from japan, car id stock part from trd coilovers and top hats, with lowered srings and adjustable rear trd shocks, oh and trd leads, my plan is to put ca18det engine and box in, bout s13, stripped everything, and yesterday stripped hatchi, waiting for engine mount s from anthony, should be here in next few days then will fir engine, ca18det will be running exedy 5paddle clutch, tubular top mount, gt28rs turbo, fmic, custom exhaust and few other parts, will be daily drive so some interior kept! will be doing all myself part from propshaft!! i have done few drift days with hatchi standard and man its so hard to spin the car, i have some motorsport background but it goes against everything i have learnt, but 100000000x more fun! pics will follow today, having trouble puttin them on computer!! cheers dan!!

s13 cost me £450 pounds, complete, only thinking of spending £2000 on project, not going ott! and to put other toyota engines, i.e forced induction will cost me way more, did look into it!! plus this not really been done over here before to my knowledge, onlr sr20det in ireland, and u gotto cut car around for that and my hatchi not got a spot of rust atal!! oh some pics from wotk done yesterday!! taken on camera phone!!

i would love to have kept 4-age motor as i love n/a noise over forced any day!! but i wont easy power at lower price than a top n/a engine!! i would of had ca engine in by now my my classic mini decided to have an exhaust valve bend tuesday night so had engine apart and rebuilding again!! and thats another fault with n/a's rev hard for the power, my mini engine race spec will rev past 8000 and its a bloody push rod engine!! but hey £30 and fixed so no bother!! will be doing most of ca conversion this weekend, will take pics an post them soon!!

well little update, put engine in today, had to do little cutting of engine mounts but nothing to bad, god putting ca18det with box in hatchi in one go is mental, and fit is well tight to bulk head, plenty room for big top mount turbo but heater hoses will be pain in the arse, massive hole to make gear lever fit, and gotta bend/move handbrake aswell!! got some pics will sut them on in little while!!

What engine mounts did you use? I was told that if you use the RB tranny with the CA bellhousing then you could have avoided all that cutting you did. Oh well, huh?
