8psi should be fine.. but it's all in the tune.. what ecu are you going to use to control it??
gday all, i was just wondering how much boost a stock 20v can handle if any, and if i need to decompress the engin by running gze pistons or anything similar, also what turbo/computer is recomended.
also chassing parts for a rwd conrersion into an ae71
cheers everyone

my old 20v turbo ran 9psi in totally standard form, but i had to be tuned really rich as to avoid engine damage, thus hi fuel consumption.

I got my money on 6-7 psi, Run a little less just to be on the safer side.
Gze pistons will work apart from what people say, however make sure you change your timing belts well before each recommened change because if you snap a belt while running gze pistons in a 20v it will royally go kaboom!
however for a few extra $$$ you can get custom forged pistons that will solve this.
Turbo is up to you, i recommened a t3 max.
t25/t28 should be good enough though.
cheers for that, i think im going with a t25, weighing up weather i should do a complete rebuild with forgies or just keep it stock an see how i go, and im still not sure what computer will best run this engin any sugestions?
If your motor hasnt alreayd been pulled apart keep it in its current state and run it till you pop the head gasket.
then drop some forgies in, change the crank or put a thicker head gasket in to drop the compression ..
again it comes down to how much boost you wanna run.
as for a computer.. i got a razorback ecu for sale. buy it![]()
