Phew im over it, my point was car insurance would most likely been useless, expensive workshop insurance would be the best measure but im sure most dont have it.

BTW.... I have a bunch of yellow GTR aftermarket panels, 970HP GTR engine, EVO 6 and 9 aftermarket bits and pieces, a few WRX hot bits for sale - all super cheap(fell off the back of a truck!)

i feel sorry for bel garage, however, this is the real world, and if my $100k track car got stolen, WHILST in the hands of a company / workshop, i would be making calls to a solicitor...
the company almost definatly has insurance, and bel garage have responcibility of the car whilst its in their hands.
now for the people who dont have insurance, the only way they are going to get some money is to sue bel garage, in which will be paid through their insurance.
and before anyone asks... i can almost gaurentee bel garage will have to assume responciblity for those cars.
but cmon, you cant afford the car if you cant insure it, hell my $3k corolla is insured...
4agze-hachisaurus, insured a few actually, and insurance companies are very good about it!
ive found some work shops have signs saying they claim no responsibility for the theft and damage by fire etc to clients vehicles if left over night.... so theres not really an avenue for legal action....
either way, its a shame that shit like this happens!

ive recently had a car stolen and it sucks... but at least i had insurance.
and if it was me.... what would it matter... id get a new one through insurance.. lol

Ok I know youve said you've insured race cars before, but have you had to make a claim on said race cars?
I'm finding it all very hard to believe. Wouldnt 90% of all the race/rally cars in australia have no insurance anyway.
i dont care what anybody says, what is the point of insuring a race car.
it doesnt get driven on the road any way.
insurance companys are a rip off, there are ins and outs of every policy.
in most cases all the modifications need to be legal and in most cases they are not.
if i ever own a car like any of these cars, my insurance will be some big ass chains coming out of my garage floor!!
the insurance on race/rally cars is completely different from that of a road car!
a race/rally car is insured for it being stolen or being damaged someway during storage or transport, a road car is insured for you causing accidents, or someone crashing into you, and it being stolen or damaged during storage.
your not paying for the car to be insured while being driven on the roads, you have no insurance while it is being driven on the road, the insruance taken out on race/rally cars.
and yes, we have made a claim on one car, albeit a fair few years ago now, a tree fell on the garage, and it was a simple process.
and whats driving a magna got to do with anything? if you cant afford the insurance.. you cant afford the car?
and ins and outs of every poloicy steroid... thats why you read the pds etc and decide whether or not you want to insure with a company, and tell them everything about the car etc.
