    A bloody big shoehorn?

lol... i wouldnt be too sure, you could start with ringing around some wreckers asking prices for:
    1. the motor + crossmember
    2. The gearbox or a gearbox that will suit the motor + that crossmember
    3. i spose it would require a custom driveshaft of some sort after that

Im fairly sure their would be alot of custom work required, and this would probly also mean cutting back through the firewall and rewelding bits in.

Im sure if you got this done it would be a awesome car to say the least
might be a bit front heavy for a drift car however, alot of people tend to do these sorts of conversions in search of better drifting capabilities but i think youll find with most the balance goes quite out of wack.

    Good luck with it

1 - it'd suck for drift. A friend had an old school V8 in a TE72 and that drifted like a pig. Once the rear started to go it was round in a flash.

2 - There's a hell of a lot of work in such a project. Getting the motor is the easy bit. Fitting it is going to be painful. Firewall mods and/or hanging through the rad support panel.

3 - a bigger car like an MA61 or similar would be a far better recipient for a 2J.

4 - My estimate of total conversion cost would be $20+ grand. Think of engine, clutch, box, tailshaft, diff, brakes, wheels to fit over brakes, suspension, crossmember mods, firewall/rad mods, new radiator, intercooler, wiring, fuel system and all the other associated screwing around you never think of.

Theres a drag coupe in japan, with a 1j or a 2j i cant quite remember. So it certainly can be done.

You have to realise that places like SSS automotive would be able to fabricate parts etc for next to nothing As they would have all the required machinary and workmanship to do the work
This would be extremely costly if your paying someone like that to do it
They can also probly get new parts for cost price etc so more money saved

I would say in my opinion, you would probly be looking into about 10k minimum, motor running

I would budget closer to 30K for more of a complete package
