went today to get a gearbox for my 4 agte, the guy said he had one out of an ae71 but it was a 4 speed i saw the box and motor it was a 4a, has any heard of these and how strong and if i can use it and also if i would have to change clutch or tailshaft or anything?

i had one of these (picked it up for $50 then gave it to kev for $20), as above its a t50 with out overdrive

identicle to T-50.. these are known as a T-40... same 1/2/3/4 ratios.. just no 5th.. so if you have a blown 3rd or 2nd in a t-50.... try find a t-40 and use it's guts
he wanted 220 for it. i thought about it but i would rather the five speed, be looking but cant find one guess im not looking hard enough
