i was looking at one a whilr back to put on my ae82 (was goinf to cut a hole in th ebonnet for clearnance, they wer a bit on the thin side from memeory about 3. something thick and was a decent, but not fantastic grade s/s. i guess it depends on hoe much bosst your planning to pump through the engine as it will affect the heat the manifold with have to withstand., for the applicatuion i was looking at for about 7-8psi it wouldve been fine, but i dunno how much th eweld would take
you might blow the welds on the intake like paul walker did lmao
There fine for anything under 7-8 psi.
just get a plate made up that goes from the manifold to your engine mount for extra strength and to get rid of any flex.
...I emailed the guy asking for some specs(ie. material thickness, what grade steel was used etc) and never got a reply. Everyone I have spoken too that knows anything about exhaust manifolds says if you go stainless steel then you need to get a good one or else they just wont last very long. These arent good ones for that price.
..and if you have to modify them to make it last then you may as well spend the little extra to being with and get a well designed steam pipe manifold which will work better and last longer. It will probably cost a similar amount in the end.![]()
no
Does anyone know where i could get a really good quality one from???
AJPS
You can have any brew you want... as long as it's a Datsun / Corolla / What is that?
If you want a good quality one then be prepaird to pay for it.
The above ones mentioned are made overseas I think like china or something. you will find a shop on ebay america that sells these, to purchase from them it works out about 10/20 bucks cheaper.
There the same product.
The welds on them are good. However if you choose to get the one with a flange for an external waste gate. you might want to take a close look as on a few i have seen the flange is bigger then the hole, and you would have to drill out the hole a bit more for better performace.
At the end of the day these are good for the price, If your planning on using one on your car and your car is a daily with a little bit of thrashign involved this is a decent option.
I would recommened to add a bracket just to stop any flex
if your got money to burn, or your planning on usign it on a dedicated track car then get a custom made one.
the amazing Kelway manifolds, sold by AJPS
