best to call them, i got mine done no problems (AE86 with 4ac then to0 4age)

just make sure car is in rwc state or looks rwc and the engine isnt stolen
then drive down and swap over engine (if its 4ac to 4age)

Thanks Rthy! Currently doing the Blacktop convert. The engine number starts with something like 4A *&^*^*^* ..... Similiar to the 4AC one. I thought maybe I wouldnt need to mention about 4ac or 4ag ... whatever . Just say the engine blow off .... hah
So What do I need ? paperwork ? or just ring Vicroad and tell them new engine no ? Coudnt find any info from Vicroad site .

You would need to get the car engineered as your putting in a new engine, You might be able to get away with just saying to vicroads that you are changing the engine number as the old one died, but still think your best speaking to an engineer about it.

i thought because of the engine making more than 10% more power over the old engine u needed to get it engineered? but yeh as everyone else said, engineer ftw!

    VASS report FTL...

Car to be in RW form, for a 20V, 50% of engineers want
some sort of brake upgrade....1 wanted a diff upgrade too.

I still trying to sort out my 4agze.
(Anyone got the emissions report ex. japan?)

Engineer says ok to pod, OR relocating standard intercooler to the front
    Not Both!

Soz, to hijack, but does anyone have a 4agze top mount with all fittings?

Call Vicroads (13 11 71) and talk to an engineer (Vicroads can send you a list).

Advice off the internet will vary wildly in both content and accuracy.

If its a 20v it'd need engineering, if its just a standard 4age then you dont as it was a factory option for that car.
