    Word...

Just about to put AE86 struts with Sigma LCA's into my 71. Couple of questions (have searched but are no definite answers)...

    1. Do the steering arms bolt up?
-do they need to be redrilled?
-would it be better to replace them with a longer item?

    2. The tie rod ends on the 71 look like the adjustment sleeve and the end are all one piece?
-will I need RA40 etc sleeves as well as tie rod ends?

    3. Will the swaybar mounts need to be redrilled?

Cheers boy...want to know what the best methods are before I start farking around trying to get them in.

I DONE ONE ON MY AE86 LONG LONG TIME AGO, USING RA60 STRUTS AND SIGMA LCA'S AS I REMEMBER

    1. STEERING ARM NEED TO BE REDRILL MAKE A BIGGER HOLE FOR THE BOLT

    2. YOU WILL NEED LONGER TIE ROD ENDS ( 2 SIDE ADJ. ABLE ONE) SOMETHINGS LIKE GX71 ( CAN"T REMEMBER)

    3. YOU WILL NEED TO REDRILL SWAYBAR MOUNTS ON SIGMA LCA'S

CHEAP AND EASY...I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH MY SETUP...IT"S MAKE GOOD CAMBER..

no take off the sigma steering arms and use either ae86, ra40 or ae86 power steering arms. dont re drill anything, and dont replace with a longer item.

yes u need the ra40 tie rod ends and adjustment tubes, u can buy the tierod ends new.

the sway bar mounts do not need to be redrilled

also while your at it you might as well press in new ae71 rubber bushes into the sigma lcas to give better feel, you could even buy new ae86 balljoints and get them pressed into the lcas

    Ok thanks heaps guys...

What about the tension rods? Do they bolt up on sigma lcas?

Also will the swaybar mounts NOT need redrilling then?

    Cheers...

Its all the same as putting sigmas in an 86.

If your using stock sigma bushes they need to be cut down about 2mm either side of the bush for them to fit in to the cross member.

I dont think 86/70/71 ball joints fit in the sigma arms.

RA40 steering tubes and tie rods need to be used.

Sway bar hole dont need to be drilled but they will be on abit of a leen.

Same with the castor rod bolt holes no drilling needed. You may just have to loosen off the adjustment at the front to get them in.

i recommend getting new sigma ball joints for your control arms if you are buying used. Small pita to put in but youll be happy you did. PS ball joints can be bought new from anywhere like super crap or rapeco.
