Cars over 7 years of age are classed as "Second hand" by the bank. You will only be able to get a personal loan for one over that age.
7 years or less you can get a "car loan" but this means that your car is tied to the finance or "encumbered" and if you decide to sell your car before your loan is paid out, you have to finish your loan first or get permission from the bank / financier stating that they no longer have any interest in your vehicle...
buy one with the money spent on it already in the right places.. like mine.. i sold it for 11.5K.. spent 40K on it.. yeh.. i got my money back! lol Nick (slipway) got an awsome deal.. granted there will always be minor things to fix.. as with any car.. but having a large portion of the work done.. like rebuilt engine suspension etc etc.. save you about 6K straight up.. and doesn't add anywhere near that much to the price tag!
got a loan for 86 over 4 years worth it bought engine and most of parts paid it off and did conversion , did my 3 years of 4ac prison and earnt my 4age lol
