dont get any idea about 20b, isnt going to happen unless u want to convert the car to LHD, exhaust protrudes on the steering rack or somthing like that
Has anyone got any info on rotary conversions into an AE86? Preferably 13b. Yes i know it's just about heresy.![]()

dont have any info on it, if your goin to interbreed toyota, rotor is prob the best way to go tho
i seem sum in jap books like carboy, they did a lil on it install
If I was going to cut up an AE86 and put an engine in that didn't belong the only conversion I would feel confortable with is a rotary. I would NEVER do the Nissan thing but a Mazda rotary I think it would be good choise. When I was working at a workshop here in Brisbane a few years ago we fitted a 13B into a TA22 Celica. If I remeber it turned out really well and was easier than what I would imagine a 20valve conversion would be. It was carbureted and ran a points ignition so that side of things was kept simple. We used a Mazda RX7 5 speed gearbox and the biggest drama was making a gearbox crossmember. As I remember it was great on the road and went really hard.
Cheers

13Bs are tiny (as you can see from the above photos).
Buy onewith box, weld engine and gearbox mounts up, get a custom tailshaft and your done.*

* Some glossing over of the truth done here, but I still think it's a simple-ish conversion. Only sticking point might be shifter position??

well supra gearbox adapters are cheap as for rotors, so why not use a W55 and then be able to use a standard engine mount, standard shifter hole and an unmodified tailshaft. Imagine how easy that would be.
