I got a copy Whats your email.
Hey guys, Im at the point of installing my silvertop with a wolf v3 ECU and i have downloaded the manual for the wolf off the net so no probs there understanding which wire does what but is there somewhere on the net or somehow i can find out where all the sensors and stuff are that i need to connect them to on my 20v?
i want to wire it up before it goes in the car and its going in next week![]()
also i was wondering if it was possible to run the factory ECU if i change it to the MAP sensor from the later blacktop model? (as opposed to AFM thats on the silvertop now)
or am i completely wrong in thinking the AFM is still on there if i'm running the quads with no airbox? (which i am)
all help will be greatly appreciated.
hands up who wants to wire this thing up for me![]()
I got a copy Whats your email.
I hope I pieced all the pages together correctly.
lol
yeah thats great monk, you just saved me the effort
now HYPNTK you want to know what sensors go to which wires on the wolf loom yes?
You cant run a map sensor input without running a blacktop ecu and doing rewiring.
If your not running an air box your AFM is just for decoration

What you gotta do is get both the diagrams.
Look at the wolf pin outs on the ECU then look at the 20v diagram and to see what sensor is what. then connect the sensor to the correct pin out on the ECU
while your doing it, try and write down everything, because I could do with a copy as well
Thanks![]()
also this is invaluable, i couldnt have made any progress without it
If you want to use a factory ECU, then yes you can use a blacktop 4A-GE computer. You also need to find a Toyota MAP sensor (you don't use the airflow meter of course), and you need a igniter and coil also of course. You can then hook up the idle speed control and everything else (knock sensor, O2 senser etc) and it should work. But this will take alot of time to wire if you don't already have a loom. Better to use the Wolf if any other mods are planned.
The Wolf 3D v3 is a old computer now, but should work well. You will not need the idle speed control, or knock sensor wired up. The computer has its own MAP sensor. You can use the TPS on the 20valve. But Wolf want to you buy generic VDO temp sensors for air and water temp. For the crank angle sensor, you may only end up using 2 pins from it. You still need a ignitor or some sort.
Wiring the Wolf will be easier than wiring up the factory ECU.
For tuning, you may want to have the load map TPS based rather than MAP based, just because it is quad throttle. The wolf can probably control the VVT, as a simple on/off at a set rpm.
wow, thanks for the info guys...i really needed those wiring diagrams...lets see how many hours this takes me...if i'm lucky i think the little cartridge may have the program for my 20v already but i don't have a win95 pc to check coz it won't run the program offered by wolf on xp
EDIT: those diagrams are great and i actually have the phil bradshaw one but my problem is where the hell are these points on the engine?!
